Enjoy the Romanesque in a circular and flat route of about 6 km with spectacular views of Montserrat. After leaving and arriving at the church of Sant Cristòfol de Castellbell (12th century), you will pass through Sant Jaume de Castellbell (12th century) and Sant Esteve de Marganell (12th century), and next to Sant Pere de Vilamarics (s . X) and the monastery of Santa Cecília de Montserrat (10th century).
There are a total of 13 signposted routes that run through the Romanesque points of interest within the Bages region. We detail our 5 favorites:
1. For the old medieval term of Manresa
Within the old demarcation of the medieval Manresa, the monumental city offers visitors the discovery of the Regional Museum and the Seu de Manresa. Touring the Cardener River, there are the remarkable monuments of Matadars, Sant Pere de Vallhonesta, the Comdals and the Castellet complex.
2. Bordering Montserrat
On the way to Manresa in Montserrat along the Coll del Bruc, you can visit the small Romanesque churches of Sant Pere del Brunet and the chapel of the Mare de Déu de Gràcia, Sant Jaume de Marganell...
3. Montserrat
In addition to the spiritual appeal of the monastery and the landscape value of the Natural Park of the Montserrat mountain, the massif treasures the old monastery of Santa Cecília de Montserrat and the old hermitage of Sant Iscle and Victoria.
4. Sant Benet de Bages
Sant Benet de Bages, a jewel of Catalan Romanesque, preserves capitals of great sculptural wealth in the cloister. The dependencies and spaces include vestiges of Roman, pre-Romanesque, Romanesque, Gothic and later epochs.
5. From Pla de Bages to Castellnou
On this route we will visit Sant Andreu de Castellnou de Bages, the best built Romanesque building of this style that is preserved in the Bages, the small chapels of Santa Maria de Claret and Sant Iscle and Santa Victòria de Bages, and the Romanesque portal of the teacher Cadell in Sant Pere d'Or.
